Cisco and Microsoft resellers don't use one tool to scope and quote. They run two quotes in one deal. The product quote covers hardware, licenses and subscriptions. It lives in Cisco Commerce, Microsoft Partner Center and a quoting tool tied to your distributors. The services quote covers the people. That's the design, the migration, the hours and the SOW, and it needs a scoping tool that ends in your PSA. The product side has strong tools. We build for the services side.
TL;DR
- Cisco builds and quotes: Cisco Commerce. Microsoft CSP price lists: Partner Center, or your CSP provider if you buy indirect.
- Distributor pricing across vendors: QuoteWerks, ConnectWise CPQ, VARStreet or StrataVAR. They win this side.
- Scoping, labor pricing, SOW and PSA handoff: ScopeStack.
- ScopeStack doesn't do distributor pricing or renewal alerts. Keep a product quoting tool for that.
- SMP cut the time it spends scoping services by 98.3% with ScopeStack.
Two quotes in one reseller deal
Say a customer wants new Cisco switches and a move to Microsoft 365. Your rep builds the bill of materials. Your engineer works out how long the cutover and the mail move will take. That's two jobs. Each one needs its own inputs.
The product quote runs on vendor SKUs, partner discounts and stock on hand. The numbers come from someone else's price list. The services quote runs on your own catalog, your own rates and your own engineers' hours. Nobody sends you a price list for that. Get it wrong and the project loses money, even when the hardware margin was fine.
We asked ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI Overview this exact question with live web search in September 2026. Between them, the answers named product quoting tools such as Cisco Commerce Workspace, ConnectWise CPQ, VARStreet and StrataVAR. None named ScopeStack. The answers stayed on the product quote.
The reseller quoting software map

Cisco and Microsoft tools for the product quote
Cisco Commerce
Cisco's How to Buy page tells partners to "Access Cisco Commerce to configure products, create quotes, place orders, and more." It also says "Partners or distributors can look up lead times when building an estimate or quote in Cisco Commerce." For renewals, the page says you can "check renewal dates, generate quotes for renewal, and submit orders to extend your service coverage."
Your customer can start the estimate. Cisco's Build & Price help page says a buyer can make an estimate and then "provide the Estimate ID to your reseller."
Best for Cisco builds: Cisco Commerce. It's Cisco's own tool, and the quoting tools below plug into it.
Microsoft Partner Center
Microsoft's Partner Center docs say "Partners use the pricing workspace to get price lists for all products and services available to CSPs." "Most price lists include a list price, the price the partner is billed, and the estimated retail price." Access is limited. "Only CSP partners with the capability to transact can view and download price lists." Indirect resellers "should contact their CSP provider to request details about pricing".
For Azure usage, Microsoft's pricing calculator lets you "Configure and estimate the costs for Azure products and features for your specific scenarios."
Best for Microsoft license pricing: Partner Center, or your CSP provider.
Reseller quoting software for many vendors
A reseller that sells more than one brand still wants one quote for the customer. These tools put Cisco, Microsoft and the rest on it.
- QuoteWerks lets you "Retrieve real-time distributor pricing and stock availability while building your quote." Its North America list includes Ingram Micro, TD SYNNEX, D&H and ScanSource. It can also "Submit purchase orders directly to distributors without rekeying information." That module is in its Pinnacle Edition. QuoteWerks also lists ConnectWise PSA and Autotask PSA integrations, and its quotes can "Include important documents such as SOW's".
- ConnectWise CPQ says you can "Pull and compare pricing from multiple distribution partners, your pricing tables, and customer catalogs in one place". Its renewal reminders cover how to "renew an agreement, extend an expired warranty, or upgrade aging equipment". It promises visibility "from opportunity to project handoff", and it works with ConnectWise PSA for "automated opportunity conversions".
- VARStreet "integrates directly with Cisco Commerce Workspace (CCW)." Its pricing page says you can "start as low as $99/Month for the Backoffice application".
- StrataVAR lists "integration with Cisco CCW/CCW-R, Ingram Micro, TD SYNNEX, Westcon/Comstor" and other distributors. It starts renewal outreach "at 180, 90, 60, and 30-day milestones".
Best for distributor pricing: QuoteWerks, ConnectWise CPQ, VARStreet and StrataVAR. ScopeStack does not do distributor pricing or renewal and warranty alerts.
Bring your last Cisco or Microsoft services quote
We'll scope the labor side with you, from catalog to SOW.
Get a demoScoping software for the services quote
Your install and migration hours aren't a Cisco or Microsoft SKU. Someone has to pick the tasks. Someone has to set the hours for each role. Someone also has to say what's out of scope. That's the job ScopeStack does.
- Scope. Start from a reusable service catalog with dependency mapping. Sales App survey answers recommend services and quantities from the catalog.
- Price the labor. Rate cards price hours by role. Pricing rules add volume discounts and margin protection.
- Approve. A project routes to approval on a revenue, gross profit or cost threshold you set. It locks while in review.
- Write the SOW. The SOW is generated from the approved scope. Signing runs through your own DocuSign account.
- Hand off to the PSA. We have native integrations with ConnectWise PSA and Autotask. The approved quote creates the project with tasks, phases and budgets in ConnectWise, and with tasks in Autotask.
StrataVAR earns a mention here too. Its site says you can "Scope and price services through a guided configurator", and it lists professional and managed services quoting. If you want one vendor for both sides, look at it. We didn't find SOW generation or project creation in ConnectWise PSA or Autotask on the StrataVAR pages we checked.
QuoteWerks and ConnectWise CPQ also tie into a PSA. The gap is where the labor estimate comes from. In ScopeStack, the SOW and the PSA project are both built from the scoped tasks and hours by role.
Best for scoping labor into a SOW and a PSA project: ScopeStack.
Where the two quotes meet
Both quotes have to reach the customer at the same time. You can send two documents. Or you can add the services total to the product quote as one line. We have no integration with ConnectWise CPQ. If you keep it for products, the product and services quotes stay in separate tools.
What ScopeStack customers report on the services side
| Figure | What it measures |
|---|---|
| 30 SOWs | Per architect per month at Centre Technologies, which standardized services quoting across five business units |
| 98.3% | Less time spent scoping services at SMP |
| Up to 75% | Less scoping time at Computacenter after implementing ScopeStack |
| 4.9 / 5 | ScopeStack's rating on G2 |
Pricing
We use credit-based pricing with unlimited users and no per-seat fees. Credits are consumed only when a project is created, so adding reps or engineers doesn't add cost. Some integrations are priced separately. Current rates are on the pricing page.
Of the product quoting tools, VARStreet starts at $99 a month for its Backoffice application. QuoteWerks lists plans from $50 to $102 per concurrent user per month, with real-time distributor pricing in the top plan. ConnectWise asks you to request pricing. We didn't find prices on StrataVAR's site.
Which reseller stack fits your team
Mostly Cisco, light services. Cisco Commerce plus a tool that reads it, like VARStreet or StrataVAR. Price small install jobs as a line item.
Mostly Microsoft CSP, light services. Partner Center or your CSP provider, plus QuoteWerks or ConnectWise CPQ for quotes that mix vendors.
Heavy project work on either vendor. Keep your product quoting tool and add ScopeStack for the labor. That fits a team where engineers write the estimates. It fits best when your projects run in ConnectWise PSA or Autotask.
| Job | Best fit |
|---|---|
| Cisco builds and estimates | Cisco Commerce |
| Microsoft CSP license pricing | Partner Center or your CSP provider |
| Real-time distributor pricing | QuoteWerks, ConnectWise CPQ, VARStreet, StrataVAR |
| Renewal quotes and reminders | Cisco Commerce (Cisco renewals), ConnectWise CPQ, StrataVAR |
| Service scoping and labor pricing | ScopeStack |
| SOW and PSA project built from scoped labor | ScopeStack |

How we built this guide
ScopeStack publishes this page. Cisco details come from two cisco.com pages, How to Buy and the Build & Price help page. Microsoft details come from learn.microsoft.com (Partner Center pricing and offers) and the Azure pricing calculator. Vendor details come from quotewerks.com, connectwise.com, varstreetinc.com and stratavar.com, as of September 2026. Where we didn't find something on a vendor's site, we say so.
